Sonny and Sam regularly engage in a post-school junk collection activity to find hidden treasures in people’s trash. One day while scanning through scrap at an abandoned house, they find a manuscript named Haunted Halloween. Intrigued by this discovery, they recite some words from the manuscript which accidentally brings to life ‘Slappy’, a sly and deceitful dummy. To gain their trust, Slappy who is a foe in disguise teaches Sonny and Sam’s bullies a lesson. As the story moves ahead, he develops anobsession withtheir mother, Kathy (Wendi McLendon-Covey) and possesses her. Slappy further continues tocreate a wave of destruction in the lives of Sarah, Sonny, Sam and their friends on the night of Halloween by bringing to life all the Halloween dummy monsters. The children soon learn about his evil motives and try to contact R.L Stine for help, while they themselves struggle to fight Slappy to save the town! 

Will Sarah and Sonny be able to save the town from the monsters? Or will Slappy succeed in his evil plans?
