The issuance of a Look Out notice against CG Power’s Sudhir Mathur resulted in his passport being seized at Delhi Airport while he was returning from US yesterday

His passport is seized because of not taking MCA’s consent before US travel while under enquiry

Despite denials it is now learnt from MEA officials at Delhi airport that Mr Mathur's passport was seized upon his return from US as he had not taken MCA’s consent before travelling while he is under MCA’s enquiry. Sudhir Mathur was summoned by MCA last week in the alleged CG Power probe. A Lookout Notice is also issued against him by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at the behest of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).

Sudhir was under MCA scanner from several days after an investigation was held against all directors including him in the alleged CG Power fraud case.

All other C.G group directors including Narayan Seshadri, Omkar Goswami and Ashish Guha have also now been summoned by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs within this week, sources said on conditions of anonymity.

It’s interesting to note that Sudhir Mathur has been involved in cases related to fraud even in the past. He was under the scanner of Crime Branch of Delhi Police which led to a sensational corporate espionage scandal in February 2015. He was also alleged of corporate spying in which secret documents were  stolen from the country’s oil ministry and sold to oil companies

Mathur was originally slated to appear before the MCA on September 3, but it was deferred by his seeking more time. A look out notice was issued in this name early this week
