Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with Kapiva Ayurveda organises Detox in the City to spread the message on wellness in city life


Leading wellness practitioners offer insights on fitness, meditation,digital balance, food, etc. to urban wellness seekers

Mumbai, September 28, 2019: Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of the leading Chamber of Commerce in India, and Kapiva Ayurveda, a fast-growing natural foods brand, organised Detox in the City, a one-of-a-kind discussion platform for the urban wellness seekers, in Mumbai on September 28, 2019 at the exclusive A Club, Lower Parel. More than 25 noted wellness practitioners and 150 delegates participated in the day-long conference to discuss some major aspects of health and wellness such as fitness – indoor and outdoor, meditation on the go, Yoga in the city, ghee for life, digital balance, the sound of silence and understanding the body 

At Detox in the City, urban wellness seekers savoured the expertise and services of wellness practitioners who shared insights on how one can incorporate wellness into her/his lifestyle alongside managing day-to-day city life. 

All the sessions were carefully curated by Amit Vaidya, a health and wellness expert, who believes in the philosophy of “Food is Medicine” and has himself been practising some of the activities discussed in the event for several years now. 

The A Club also crafted a special menu for the event – a series of 3 mini-thalis throughout the day, each with a different theme around Focus, Flavour and Fun. 

“As more and more Indians are adopting urban lives, the frantic pace of city life has started taking its toll on the mental and physical health of the population living in various cities in the country. Through Detox in the City, we have made an earnest attempt to create awareness among people in the city of Mumbai on the importance of living healthy life by bringing in positive influences of Yoga, meditation, fitness, natural food, etc. We are extremely satisfied by the response and we expect the initiative will have a multiplier effect in spreading the message of nature-inspired lifestyle,” said Ameve Sharma, Chairman – ICC Western region and Co-founder, Kapiva Ayurveda. 

This was the first edition of Detox in the City and there are plans of scaling it up to a larger initiative in other cities, starting from Delhi.
