Indian Idol season 11: Kartik Aaryan breaks down hearing about contestant's heartwarming story!

Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol ‘Season 11’ has already made it big impressing all. The star-studded judge panel includes acclaimed names like Anu Mallik, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani. This year’s theme of Indian Idol ‘EK Desh EK Awaaz’ is breaking all stereotypes and celebrates diversity in its true sense. This week, the highly anticipated movie trio- Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Pandey visited the Indian Idol sets to support the contestants.

Kartik, who had a whale of a time listening to melodious numbers on the show, got emotional after knowing a heartwarming story of one of the contestants, Shahzaan Muzeb, who came to Mumbai from Aligarh with Rs 20 in his pocket and made his mark as a singer in Indian Idol Season 11 among Top 10 contestants.

Since it was a Mother's Special episode, all the contestants dedicated their songs to their mothers. Shahzaan's rendition of the song, 'Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein' from the Kamal Hassan-Sridevi starrer Sadma moved Kartik to the extent that he got really emotional and broke down.

Interestingly, the makers of the show organised a special video byte of Kartik's mother, who praised the actor's journey from being a Gwalior boy to becoming the young heartthrob of Bollywood. The special act left Kartik speechless, as he later revealed on the show about his mother's victory over breast cancer and how she used to travel to Mumbai to be by his son's side during his days of struggle.

Kartik informs, "Shooting for the Mother's Special episode was quite an emotional experience. It brought back all the memories I've had with my mother who has always been a strong pillar of support. I was truly moved by Shahzaan's soul-stirring rendition of Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein, which is one of my favourite songs."

Neha Kakkar says, "It was one of the most special and moving episodes of this season of Indian Idol. I'm very close to my mother but I don't tell her if I'm in stress or something isn't right  all the songs of this episode really moved everyone."
